Work has officially begun on the 4th SENS RINK to be built in Gatineau, in Masson-Angers. The initiative by the Ottawa Senators Foundation was made possible in part by donations raised by Tremblant’s 24h.

A Common Space for Youth

Why a rink? With basketball nets and other outdoor sports in the summer and learn to skate, hockey, and other community programming in the winter, the SENS RINKS are meant to be recreational meeting places for children and youth in Ottawa, Gatineau, and the immediate vicinity. The project is part of a global vision aimed at giving future generations free or low-cost access to a healthy, active lifestyle. The rink is scheduled to open when school starts in September.

Physical and Mental Health Through Sport

Tremblant’s 24h is very proud to be partnered with the Ottawa Senators Foundation with the ultimate aim of helping to give children a chance to develop healthy lifestyles that include sports. We send out heartfelt thanks to all of the participants and donors who contributed actively to the cause. As you can see, your donations do make a difference!

The Project

The Ottawa Senators Foundation and the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club are engaged in building 20 SENS RINKS that will give children and families a safe place to play and socialize year-round. The Ottawa Senators Foundation believes that all children deserve an opportunity to play. Children who play not only experience better health and build social skills but they develop life skills such as goal setting and the work ethic required to accomplish those goals. Children who play become better students, receive higher grades and have higher graduation rates.

Children who play have a better chance of future success.
